My pal Gunther

Tonight I am a little bit concerned about my buddy Gunther over there in Morro Bay. Dad said something about him being a little unhappy because he hasn't been able to go to Bark Park for a few days. Seems he has some breathin' problems or something. He even said something about getting a tongueectomy. Yuck, I can't imagine that. I like my tongue, it's how I give Mom and Dad kisses. Anyway, I doubt that will happen. He has to get back to Bark Park soon so that when I come over he can help me get used to being around other dogs. I really want to play and stuff, but I'm just a bit of a weenie. Oh, I made a funny, get it, weenie, weiner dog.... oh well, I guess dogs don't do comedy. Anyway Gunther, let Dr. Stephens take care of you tomorrow, get better and get ready for some rompin' stompin' fun with your buddette, Roxie

Oh by the way, here is a picture of Gunther at Bark Park - love you buddy!

Hello friends

My name is Roxie. I decided that since I will be nine years old this coming Christmas that I should write stuff about my life as a dachsund. At least I think that is what I am, my Mom and Dad call me Roxie Doxie, so maybe I am really a doxie, I don't know it's a little confusing. Anyway, I know I weigh about ten pounds. I know that it is quite a reach whenever I need to bite at something that is on the other end of my body. I also know that when I run around where there are lot's of rocks and stuff I can get poked and scratched on my belly a lot. I think my body is too round for the length of my legs, or maybe my legs are too short for the roundness of my tummy. I wonder if Dr. Paulson could help me with that? I love my Mom and Dad and I really like people in general, except I get a little nervous around people I don't know until I have been around them a while. I really like going to Grandpa and Grandma's house, they always have extra treats for me. I like to get up on the couch and lay down next to Grandpa and sleep - sleeping being one of my favorite past-times. I used to have a brother, Buster the pug. He got older and went to pug heaven. My big sister Fergie the pomeranian got old too, and she had to leave me to go to pomeranian heaven. I kinda miss them, and I know Mom and Dad miss them a lot! Right now I just have my sister Lily. She is just a cat, not a real person at all. She is ok I guess, but most of the time I just leave her alone and she leaves me alone. When she first came to live with us she slapped me on the nose a couple of times so I just said fine, you go your way and I'll go mine. See my Mom holding me! She takes me for these really cool walks down at a place she calls Morro Rock, that's it in the background. I love her - she takes me for walks, she gives me treats, she let's me ride in the car, she picks up my poopy messes, she's just really cool. Anyway, more later, I just wanted to get acquainted.
